Weird wacky museums of the world

Weird, odd, strange or just different

Thats what you could says about the museums I have found here. I really did not know what I was getting myself into when I decided to write this hub. I thought what a neat thing, a list of odd and weird museums. After looking at hundreds of pages of museums on the web, I came up with these. I am sure there are so many others out there that I have not found. I encountered broken links, museums closing or moving, and some just had no website at all, so I was not sure if they were valid museums. If you have been to a weird, odd or just plain different museum that is not on this list, Please let me know, I would love for this to be the complete list. Hope you enjoy it.

The National Museum of Crime and Punishment has the following galleries..

A Notorius history of crime, Punishment, the consequense of crime, Crime fighting, CSI experience, and America's Most Wanted studio.

A Barbedwire Hat at the Museum of Barbedwire

Photo of float at UFO festival

Things removed from a patients stomach

Wreath made of hair from Leila's Hair Museum

Lizzie Borden bed and breakfast and museum

KGB coat with buttonhole camera.

A carved fantasy coffin, one of twelve.

Worlds smallest museum

Getting started in 1890's

Just a few of the many frog items on display here.

Worlds Largest Pez Dispenser

A Petrified Banana

Worlds Most Posionous

1993 International Super WD9 McCormick

This only a small part of the bunny collection.

There are so many museums that are weird, odd, strange or just plain different out there. I will continue you this list as Weird wacky museums of the world part 2.

Again some of the links that I had on here did not work, even after I tested them multiple times! So frustrating.

Great Hub, from bizarre to weird. I enjoyed it.

In South Africa we have, or had a SA Police museum which had a number of oddities in it, a skull with a knife embedded into it, the owner of the skull walked around with the knife in it for 10 years.

Wow, that is interesting. Thanks for your comment!

I had alot of trouble finding museums outside of the USA. I just don't know if the resources are there. But I will try and continue my search for the wacky and weird in part2.

Too funny! Should I be concerned if more than a couple of these are places my boyfriend would <love> to go?

Thanks Nicole for your comment. I am not sure if you should be too concerned if your boyfriend would love to see a few of these places, I would too. Ok maybe thats not the best argument to help him out.

How fun! I love museums, and a lot of these are just the things I'd like to see... that photo of the things found in a patient's stomach is totally something that would fascinate me!

Your welcome. I find it pretty fascinating myself. I would really like to visit the crime and punishment museum. They have the CSI exhibit where you can try to solve a crime, that would be so much fun.

Thanks for the comments!

Great list of the bizarre! There are a few in England that might be worth adding that are odd - for example the Walter Rothschild Zoological Museum in Tring now renamed last year the Natural History Museum (not THE Natural History Museum) which has stuffed animals of all types including one of every known species of zebra!

Great collection. I've been to the Mutter Museum a couple times, and I must say it is very odd and well, sometimes a bit gross! haha my little brother loved it when I took him there.

The one with the parasites - YUCK! I could never go there. Not sure that I'd want to stay in the Lizzie Bordon B & B.

These are funny, great hub Gwendymom!

I just remembered the Insect Museum in Victoria, British Columbia. I took a group of students there and we had a lot of fun. I want to go back.

Shirley-I'm pretty darn sure I'm not gonna stay at the lizzie Borden B&B either, too scary. I'd rather go to the parasite museum. Thanks for your comment.

Patty, I think an insect museum would be alot of fun to see. I really think I'd like the crime and punishment museum, I want to solve a crime in that CSI exhibit.

It is great that some people really put up and organize these museums and displays. Like other 'normal' museums, they also teach us many things and make us more aware of our surroundings.
